Educational School Tours at Argos Farm
Tuesdays or Thursdays
Sept. 20 - Oct. 29, 2017
9:00 am to 12:00 pm
A class field trip to the farm can be both educational and fun, as students learn about agriculture and how food is grown on the farm. Our objective is to provide a clean and fun environment for the children to grow and learn, so each visit includes a nice blend of learning and outdoor activity.
Your visit will begin as students enter our 4-acre Corn Maze in teams, developing team-building and problem-solving skills in a fun, twisting and turning challenge. Then everyone climbs aboard our tractor-drawn wagon for a ride around the farm. At the end of the wagon adventure, each student shoots down the hay slide on a potato sack for a speedy trip indeed.
Next, we’ll discuss the life cycle of the pumpkin, discuss and compare different varieties of pumpkins, and each student will pick a cannonball pumpkin to take home. After, the class heads to the giant jumping pillow (40 by 60 feet) for some memorable bouncing, and finally to the corn box and the opportunity to make “corn angels” in the grain. The visit ends with a quick hello to BESSIE, our Holstein Cow, and her fellow farm animal friends.
